Jack started moving slowly back to his village, "Should I tell the truth and have no-one believe me, or should I lie?" he was asking himself. If he did tell the truth, he would be going against the teaching of the league, but if he was going to lie, he had to come up with something that was seemingly impossible. Jack honestly had no idea of what to say to anyone, especially his mother. He was happy he was to be soon reunited with his mum, but a weird feeling also entered his head as he was still thinking about Eliza. Jack stopped as he got out of the forest, he could see his village in the distance. As he walked closer, he could see people going about their daily business, shopping in different stools, and children just running about.
Jack was now just outside the village gate, it was open on the weekend so anyone could come in, he stood still at the edge, still having no clue on what to say. Jack looked to his front and left, townsfolk hadn't noticed him, same on his front and right. As Jack walked further into the village, people started to turn round and see him, they went quiet, only mumbling to each other while staring at Jack. Jack was moving slowly looking at everyone as they looked at him. The walk felt like hours, and was really uneasy, Jack had never been the centre of attention before, and now he was. As Jack moved even further in, the whole village went quiet, and all stopped doing what they were doing previously. Even the children stopped running about just to look at Jack. One child ran to Jacks house, knocking frantically on the door. Jacks mother opened the door, she was a complete mess, her clothes were stained, her hair was really messy, and her face was red and waterlogged from crying. She looked at the child who knocked on the door, who pointed at Jack. She then saw her son, she had disbelief to begin with, squinting to see who it was, and as soon as she did, she started crying again, but with a smile, and ran at Jack.
"JACK!!!" she yelled.
"MUM!"
They had both opened their arms and embraced in a massive hug in the middle of the village. Jacks mum was squeezing him so tightly that Jack let go as it started to hurt. "I'm so glad you're safe, but you're injured, we need to get you home." She picked him up and started pulling Jack to his house, while everyone else was still just staring at him. Jack went straight to his bed where his mother tucked him in and sat on it next to him. Jack was 15, too old to be tucked in by his mum, but this was for good reasoning. Jacks mum started to cry again, and leaned her head on Jacks head. "I thought I lost you Jack…"
"I did too mum, but it's fine now, I'm back, and I wont leave you again."
A smile rose on her face, and she started to laugh with tears still flowing out of her eyes. A knock came on the door, but Jack and his mother just ignored it. It came again, but they wanted to stay alone, so they ignored it again. Then there was a smash, someone had broke the door and came into Jacks room. "Hello Jack, didn't think I'd ever see you again, we need to talk." He said, he was Jacks teacher, the man from the league. Jacks mother instantly responded with "NOT NOW!!!"
"Yes now, the league needs to speak with you now."
"But I just got him back, don't take him away now, at least wait till tomorrow."
"Sorry, but now."
Jack pulled himself out of his bed, it took him a minute or so as his mother had tucked him in really tightly. He walked out behind his teacher, his mother following right to the door. As they all walked out, including Jacks mother, the man stopped and shut the door, closing Jacks mother in the house. "I need to speak to him… alone."
As they walked out, the other townspeople watched, the man looked back at them, and they all looked away and carried on with what they were doing. He then took Jack across the village to a secluded area, where no-one ever went, and where no-one could hear/see them. "So Jack, how did you escape?"
"Um… I uh…" Jack was mumbling, he had no idea on what to say.
"Don't give me any lies, there is no chance you killed that dragon, so no hero stories."
"I didn't kill her!"
"THEN HOW DID YOU ESCAPE?" Jack stayed quiet. "Sigh…The dragon was carrying you off in her claws, she wouldn't have dropped you, and if she did, she would remember your scent and come back after you. What happened?"
"Nothing happened, I can't remember what I did to escape."
"You need to come up with something, everyone will be asking questions."
"I KNOW, but a boy escaping a dragon, a boy who is weak, and a dragon the size of my house and more…"
"You could try the dropped excuse, but that would only work on stupid people."
"Ok then sir."
The man then walked away, leaving Jack. Jack rushed back home to his mother. As he opened the door, he was greeted with another bone crunching hug from his mother. "I'm sorry mum, but I lost dads ring."
"I don't care about that, I care about you, who cares about a stupid ring."
"I care about my ring!!!"
"A ring is nothing compared to you, I'm never gonna let anything like that ever happen to you again."
The week following was quite awkward, Jacks mother wouldn't let him leave the house, not even for school, Jack had to stay in with his mother, who had now become way too over protective. Jack actually wanted to go back to school, he wanted to go back to his extra dragon lessons, just to see… During that week, many people came to Jacks house, asking about him, but Jack used the same excuse for everyone, "I was dropped." Most people just believed that, some were a bit suspicious, but agreed. At the end of that week, Jack decided to talk to his mother. "Mum, can I go back to school, the league will make sure nothing happens to me."
"No, they said they would protect us from anything, they didn't last week, so I don't trust them."
"It wasn't their fault, it was mine, they couldn't do anything. And I am 15, it is my choice what I do!"
"Fine, go to school tomorrow."
"Thanks."
Jacks mother was there as Jack was getting ready for school, He didn't like how his mother had become, he was getting really annoyed by it. As Jack left the house, his mother gave him a tight hug, the 1000th this week. Jack said nothing as he left. People were ignoring Jack as he was walking, not wanting to talk to him, back to usual he guessed. As he walked into his first class, his teacher got up, "Look whose back!" he said, but no-one responded. Jack had to go through 3 lessons before the dragon one, during those lessons, people were ignoring him, not even looking at him. Now it was time for his dragon class.
As Jack walked in, the 2 other boys who took the class were in there, the teacher wasn't. The 2 boys looked at Jack, "Well well well, looks who's here, the dragonslayer." one said.
"I'm not a dragonslayer."
"Oh yea, I forgot, the dragon dropped you…"
"Yes she did."
"Well if I ever see her, I will kill her." the boy said while thrusting his arm in the air.
The teacher walked in as one of the boys said that. "You couldn't kill a dragon, no human can. These lessons aren't for that, they are to help you learn more about them."
Jack then spoke again, "Sir, what are we gonna do today?"
"Well you have seen a dragon recently, so we are going to mix art in this lesson. You will describe the dragon, and we will draw what we think it looks like, is that ok?"
"Ok sir…"
"It was a blue female dragon, about 20 feet high, and 50 foot head to tail, if stretched out. She was a Draco Occidentalis Magnus, so a European dragon. She had an arrowhead tail, and unlike many dragons we learnt about, had a smooth back, no spikes anywhere. Oh, her wingspan was about 75 feet, about the right length to enable flight. She didn't have horns on her head, it was also smooth. Her limbs were of normal size, but once again, no spikes or anything. Her claws though, now they were sharp, I thought they would rip right through me as she carried me off."
The teacher drew on paper what Jack described, he was quite a good artist, it looked near enough exactly like Eliza. The other 2 boys had drawn the dragon, not that well, but they also drew themselves throwing a spear at it, and it piercing her chest. Jack knew that wouldn't work, a human cannot throw a spear hard enough to pierce through dragons scales. One of the other boys then spoke, "So if you thought she was gonna rip you in half, ha-ha, why didn't she?"
"Because Eliza isn't like that…" Jack replied.
"Eliza?" they all said.
"Um…nothing, I meant she dropped me."
"Don't worry, Jack's still in shock, he doesn't know what he's saying, come with me Jack."
The teacher took Jack out of the class, Jack had realized what he just did, how was he gonna get out of that? "Jack, what did you mean by -she isn't like that-?"
"She dropped me, so she must have been tired or something."
"Ok, what about calling her Eliza?"
"I don't know…"
"DON'T LIE TO ME!"
"…She said that was her name…" Jack had to say.
"You know as well as the rest of us, dragons can't speak."
"But she did…"
"You're still in shock then, that's not possible, go home, I will get you when you understand what nonsense you just said."
Jack walked home, he was quite lucky the teacher thought he was in shock, otherwise he would be in trouble. "Best not go back to school for a while…" For the next few days, he stayed at home with his mother, not going to school, barely ever leaving the house. Jack was scared that if he did, he would have to confront is teacher, and even worse, the 2 other boys. It was now the day exactly 2 weeks from the dragon attack, if Jack wanted his ring back, he would have to leave tonight. "Mum, I'm going out for a day or so." he said when at the front door. "Where are you going this late?"
"Just out."
"For a few days?!?!"
"Yes, nothing will happen."
"No, I won't let you leave."
"MUM, I'M 15, I CAN DO AS I WISH!!!"
"Ok, at least tell me what you are doing…"
There was a long pause, Jack then sighed, "I'm going to get my ring back."

In a dense patch of wilderness, far from any civilization, was a village. The village, though self dependent, was a decent place to live. It looked like something straight out of the middle ages; the houses were built out of common materials, such as wood and straw, and many of the people in the village were farmers. The village knew about the world outside, but kept to itself; they found life in the wilderness appealing. There was no village leader; it was a compl

Giralli, a young cyan colored dragoness, was laying in the middle of a large field. She had just managed to fend off some dragonslayers and killed them all, her stomach digesting at their bodies, as she tended to her wounds. With her wingsail damaged, she couldn't fly without immense pain, and she could barely walk, but she'd definitely live to fight another day.
As she licked her wounds clean, she sensed that she wasn't alone, and she became defensive. She might not last through another attack. However, a lone man stumbled out from the edge of the forest surrounding the field, unarmed. He had a large gash on his arm, and had managed to stop
